There’s something whimsical and dreamy about flower fields! I’ve explored some of the prettiest ones in Southern California, but have always dreamt of frolicking through a field of lavender. Having an infant makes traveling a little more difficult, so when I discovered Frog Creek Farms just an hour away in Ojai, I knew my lavender loving dreams were finally going to come true!
If you’ve been following me on Instagram or my blog, you know how much I love Ojai! There really is something unexplainably magical about it. We pulled up to the farm and were immediately in awe of how charming it was. We chatted with the owner Christel and learned the property is basically her backyard! If that isn’t goals, I don’t know what is. She’s also thought of EVERYTHING to make this lavender picking experience truly memorable. They have a variety of wicker baskets for you to fill up with your lavender and since visiting season is during June-July they’ve even provided lavender colored parasols to shade you from the sun.
Her husband Larry greeted us as we approached the lavender fields and taught us about the different types of lavender and how to pick them. He was so passionate about it and the love he and Christel have for their farm made the entire experience truly special.
If you need a break from picking lavender they have an area with a picnic table and a hammock, so you can pack a lunch, grab a book, while the sounds of bees buzz through the garden and the sweet smell of lavender fills the air. They also have a beautiful garden shop full of every sort of lavender thing you can dream of! (Get the lavender lemonade, it’s soo gooood)
I could’ve spent all day here and hopefully when we go back next season, we’ll be able to!
