For those fellow Angelinos looking for fun things to do in LA this month, here’s a list of options for you! And if you don’t live in LA you can scroll down for a list of fun things to do with your friends this holiday season!
Sleepy Hollow – This is our go-to Christmas event every year! It’s a bit of a drive, but is beyond worth it! Unlike other “Candy Cane Lane” type neighborhoods, these houses go beyond all out with decorations! The best part are the families that have little stands out of front their houses selling hot chocolate, cookies, and there’s even a house with fresh churros that descend from a blimp!
The Grove – The Grove is transformed into a winter wonderland! With fake snow falling every night at 7pm & 8pm, taking photos at Santa’s Workshop, or The Festival of Lights (December 12th 6pm-7pm) there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Enchanted Forest of Light – We’ve gone to this twice and it is magical! It’s not the most “Christmasy” display of lights, but it’s beautiful!
Happy Holidays Ya Filthy Animals – An immersive experience has come to LA this winter! Inspired by a few classic holiday favorite movies, there are photo-ops, outdoor ice-skating, and more!
Outdoor Ice Skating – There is something magical about being in Los Angeles and ice skating outside. Grab some hot chocolate and click here to find an outdoor rink near you!
Melrose Rooftop Theatre – This unique outdoor movie-going experience has a December lineup to remember! The entire month is full of classic Christmas movies to enjoy!
Snow Day LA – You don’t have to travel far to go “snow” tubing in LA! Enjoy an interactive light show, food trucks, and more!
Fa La Land – Located at The Row in Downtown LA, this festive immersive experience is sure to get you into the holiday spirit!
North Pole Express – There are a couple different holiday train rides to choose from, but the most magical of all is returning Santa to the North Pole. On December 26th, everyone is encouraged to come in their pajamas, stuff their faces with cookies, listen to Christmas carols, while sending Santa back to his home.
Winter Fest OC – This event has it all! Snow tubing, Christmas tree lighting, snow falling, fireworks, a light maze, and Santa and his reindeer. There’s also carnival rides, festive entertainment, and more!
Big Bear Village – Another tradition we have every year is to visit the charming Big Bear Village with our pups! We have lunch at Saucy Mama’s (they’re pet friendly), go tubing, and we always end our trip with a ride on the Alpine Slide.
Skypark at Santa’s Village – If you’re in Big Bear, Lake Arrowhead isn’t too far from you! Skypark at Santa’s Village is a North Pole themed adventure park with fun for the entire family.
Disneyland – If you know me, you know I love Disneyland any time of year, but Christmas at the house of mouse is extra special! Until January 8th they have The Festival of Holidays! 12 food carts inspired by different cultures, entertainment, and more!
Grinchmas & Christmas in Hogwarts – Universal Studios holds an epic Whoville Jubilation, with a tree lighting celebration, performance by Martha May, and snow fall! The Wizarding World of Harry Potter turns into a wintery Hogarts wonderland! Snow fall, a holiday frog choir, and a light display on Hogwarts castle! Admission to Universal Studios gives you access to both these magical events.
