LA to Vegas, Baby!

Earlier this month Drew and I embarked on one of my favorite roadtrips, EVER! We realized we had never been to Vegas together and were so excited to have a little roadtrip getaway! Our first stop was Peggy Sue’s Diner, which I had driven past countless times, but never stopped at. If you’re looking for cute photo-ops this is your place! And their fried pickles are great!

Right around the corner from Peggy Sue’s was Calico Ghost Town, which we honestly had very low expectations for and ended up falling in love with! It was purchased by the Knott’s family and it is definitely a must-see if you have time! It had all the quirks of an old timey ghost town and we wished we had planned to have more time there! Little fact – my entire life I have always wanted to take those old-timey photos and when I saw a little shop there that did them, I MADE DREW DO A PHOTOSHOOT WITH ME! I loved it a little too much.

We made our way to Vegas and got to the MGM Grand, which is always a fun spot to stay at! We checked in and found this little restaurant around the corner called Battista’s Hole In The Wall and I feel like we hit the jackpot. I honestly felt like I was transported back to Italy. I got their eggplant parmesan and I’m still dreaming about it! The next day we gambled a little and explored the hotels, but all I could think about was SECRET PIZZA. “What is secret pizza you ask?” Well, it’s a secret pizza restaurant at the Cosmopolitan! Drew had gone a few times before and I was always jealous, so I was pumped to finally try it myself and it was de-licious! (check it out in the video below) After lunch we went to watch the show at the Bellagio fountain, shared a massive shake from Black Tap, and ended our night playing $5 Blackjack on Freemont Street, and danced the night away to the live music they had there! Downtown Vegas has stepped it’s game up and was seriously so much fun!

We ended our trip by stopping by the famous 7 Magic Mountains on our way home and it was even more stunning in person. TIP: We went on a Tuesday morning around 11am and we were so lucky to not have a bunch of people near us!

If you’re looking for an epic little roadtrip that is relatively inexpensive, this is one for the books!

Andrea
